Letting Go
~~ LETTING GO ~~
Woven in the tapestry of our life,
something's placed before us often without reasons.
Just as winds breathe, blowing in four directions,
currents passing through like ever changing seasons.
~*~
Within our heart is a dwelling place,
memories are stored like a secretly-kept treasure.
Notations for repeating patterns of musical beats,
marked in sequence, intervals of love we measure.
~*~
Then came words spoken that still linger,
and I surmise the time has come for letting go.
How does one make it past another day without you,
with clocks easing away every hour increasingly slow.
~*~
Mesmerizing dreams capture longings we carry,
setting out on a journey no matter when or where.
I wonder if you understood how you mirrored my soul,
In that one moment of wonderful shared in common care.
~*~
Nothing will ever be the same again,
surrendered all of my emotions with your touch.
Now I am merely looking for a soft place to fall,
somehow you believed I came to expect too much.
~*~
My skin bare with no covering left me,
like the ever-interlacing of fine silk threads.
Wrapped in satin sheets, stained with fallen tears,
that once lay like royalty across the bed it spreads.
~*~
Then came words spoken that still linger,
and I surmise the time has come for letting go.
How does one make it past another day without you,
with clocks easing away every hour increasingly slow.
