I listen to the words of a sad
lonely song and I sigh
Wondering how the writer seems to
know me and about the tears I cry
What is the reason for loneliness,
Can someone please explain
Is it a rule that each of us
must suffer heartfelt pain
What happened to the power
and the glory of love
I have prayed so many times
to the heaven's above
Why can't I be with you
Why must we be apart
Listen to my words
and the love that they impart
I listen to the lonely song
and once again I cry
Lonely am I still
and once again I sigh
Love begets Love
Surely you agree
If we give love to one another
We are the victors and no longer lonely be
