Doug Stone
Facts: Doug Stone was born in Newnan, Georgia, another Southern artist with great country roots. His birthday is June 19, 1956, and he now resides in Nashvile, Tennessee. Doug was exposed to country music at an early age as his mother, Gail was an aspiring singer, and taught Doug how to play the guitar at the age of five. Doug's passion for music was evident at the age of sixteen, when he built his own recording studio in his home. Doug worked as a mechanic in 12-16 hour days, while playing music at night. Doug feels better now, than he ever has, after havung endured quadruple bypass surgery, a heart attack, emotional difficulties, and voice problems. Due to his recent battle with cardiovascular disease, Doug is now a national spokesperson for The American Heart Association. He no longer worries so much, but is enjoying a rich and full life, and just completed his album "Make Up In Love". I was blown away by this song. This song, along with the song on this page makes for a very wonderful feeling of romance and love.
Here is "Made For Loving You" by Doug Stone..Special thanks to Coco Farrell, who as a partner in this site, made these lovely graphic tags. Goodnight from Sugarfoot.
"My Heart Speaks.."
From The Poetry Archives of Susan Jane Kahon
Let my lonely heart speak to you..
Let our dreams of love, always come true..
For even though our souls may touch
My body's never close enough....

Those three little words I often say
Aren't meant to turn your heart away
It's only how my own heart speaks
That's why, "I Love You" I repeat....

For love can only grow and grow
The more of you, I try to know....
Love can silence all our fears..
Then love, will last through all the years

Poetic, though, my substance be..
The love I feel is no fantasy....
With passage of time, our dreams unfold
The words "I Love You", now are told

I Love You
