In dawn of morning sunlight rising,

the first thing I always do.

Trace my hands upon an empty space,

to find that I am missing you.

When was it that you slipped away,

in the covering of darkness night.

After we had shared such love,

bound in oneness as sparks ignite.

The loneliness you left behind,

never more shall be filled.

For my heart lies in broken pieces,

so many tears on a pillow spilled.

A fantasy I wanted to cling to,

believing all the words spoken.

Now understanding all to well,

means of a shallow simple token.

I suppose if honesty be known,

in this common place to which we came.

You could not stay, but had to go,

which one of us should hold the blame.
