Once Upon A Dream

Our lives are filled with dreams and hopes…
the wishes that we sometimes keep inside our
hearts to make us smile and take us to another place.
Sometimes the dreams evolve through love
that’s found in unexpected ways…..and often
leads us down a path that may not have
the end result our hearts would seek.

By chance, my heart was swept into
a world of love unequaled in my life; a
place that held me fast both heart and soul.
Emotions soared….my days and nights were
filled with tender rapture new, untouched…
My essence wrapped around this gift...
the beauty of this time….a dream

That dream did end; the fates it seems
had other plans for these two bonded, loving souls,
and they were torn apart to walk alone…
a journey that I never wished to take.
So I am left with questions still and
empty arms that ache to hold again;
the warmth still lingering inside.

But one sweet gift remains, for me
to cherish and to open when I dare to dream again….
the memory of souls that met,
entwined, and shared a precious time.
It cannot be erased; and lives
within a heart made richer by
the knowledge I was deeply loved.
