I've known the feeling of true love,

But God has taken him above.

I've missed him so, throughout the years,

The heartache, pain and all the tears.

The years went by, but time stood still

Unhappy and lost, my life unfulfilled.

"Oh, God, send someone to love again

Please give me sunshine, instead of rain".

He sent that love to me one day

Someone to hold my hand and pray.

Joy and happiness, I'll never forget

The first loving kiss, on the day we met.

I thought my dream finally came true.

One that would never become untrue.

But fantasies sometimes carry us away

Into a world, filled with dismay.

How can I ever trust my heart?

When the dream I had, just fell apart.

I felt so sure this love would last,

Only to find … it's in the past.

Maybe someday, true love I will find.

One that is trusting, loving and kind.

Until then, I will fake this smile.

I’ll love again, but it may take awhile.
