From The Poetry Collection Of Susan J. Kahon
I have a great love in my soul But an old fashioned heart in my hand I always put him first in my life But sometimes he just doesn't understand I'm a woman, just like every woman he's known And I love and feel the same All women may not love equally, But that's just part of the game My little old fashioned heart I give it a squeeze, now and then To make sure that it knows Wherever he goes This ole' heart goes along with him My heart knows where it truly belongs And I search for an answer each day To make this heart a brand new one And I'm looking, to find a way
He means so much to my old fashioned heart And I do what it takes to get by My heart is now a bit worn and torn But my old fashioned heart doesn't lie Hidden, deep in the shadows... Where my old fashioned heart borrows space I wait in the wings, among other things 'Till I can once again, see his face I have a great love in my life, But an old fashioned heart in my hand I always put him first in my life And I hope that he does understand How much love That I hold in my hand written by Susan Kahon March 18 2004
